Terms of service
Last updated: October 2026
These terms apply to SAIS Care: the website at sais.live, the staff application at app.sais.live, and the appointment messages SAIS Care sends by text message (SMS), WhatsApp, email and phone call. By using the service or agreeing to receive messages, you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
SAIS Care (Smart Appointment Intelligence System) is a graduate capstone project at The George Washington University (M.S. Information Systems Technology), run by the project team for demonstration and testing. It is not a healthcare provider and does not give medical advice. Contact: support@sais.live.
2. The service
Clinic staff use SAIS Care to book and manage appointments, estimate which appointments may be missed, and remind patients. Most records are fictional demonstration data. The only real people who receive messages are test participants who gave their own phone number and agreed to receive messages.
3. Staff accounts
- Staff accounts are created by the project team. Keep your password private and sign out on shared computers.
- Use the service only for scheduling and reminders. Don't enter real patient health information.
- Accounts may be suspended or removed at any time, including at the end of the project.
4. Appointment text messages (SMS program)
- Program: SAIS Care appointment reminders. Messages are transactional: reminders, requests to confirm, and offers of an earlier slot. No marketing.
- Consent: messages are sent only to people who agreed to receive them when they were registered (how consent is collected). Agreeing is not a condition of receiving care.
- Frequency: varies; usually 1 to 3 messages per appointment, plus replies to any change you ask for.
- Costs: message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP at any time. You will get one confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to receive messages again.
- Help: reply HELP, or email support@sais.live.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Full details: SMS terms.
5. Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in the privacy policy. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Acceptable use
Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the service, access data you aren't allowed to see, or use it to send messages to people who haven't agreed to receive them.
7. No warranty
SAIS Care is a student demonstration provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, paused or changed at any time. Don't rely on it for medical care or urgent matters; in an emergency, call 911.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the project team and The George Washington University are not liable for any loss arising from use of the service or from messages that are delayed, not delivered or inaccurate.
9. Ending the service
The service runs for the duration of the capstone project. When it ends, messaging stops and test data is deleted, as described in the privacy policy.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Questions: support@sais.live.
